Course Details
This is a non-credit workshop designed to give the student a taste of the three full-time diploma programs offered in BCIT’s Broadcast and Media Communications. The course is 15 hours, divided into three 5 hour interactive workshops. Each workshop will be devoted to one of the three areas of study: TV and Video Production, Radio Arts and Entertainment, and Broadcast and Online Journalism. In each workshop the student will explore introductory concepts and hands-on technology specific to each program.
*Those who attend the workshop will receive a tuition credit of $150 for a full-time Broadcast and Media Communications program if enrolled within three years. Contact the Program Assistant Angelina_Shine@bcit.ca to redeem. *This is not a self-paced course. You will be expected to be available and online on the posted days and times shown on your registration schedule. *Students will need to have use of a Smartphone with recording capability. It is important to have a stable and consistent internet connection to access course content. Course content, type and quality of assignments, and general standards for this online course are the same as classroom courses. To be successful in this online course, plan to spend 7-10 hours per week on your studies, starting Week 1.
