This course expands on the basic supply chain management concepts learnt in APIC 1161 and explores the detailed processes in an end-to-end supply chain system in a manufacturing and distribution environment. Topics include: planning processes in a manufacturing and distribution environment to balance demand and supply, execution processes such as MRP that create inventory, push and pull scheduling techniques to control operations, and strategic positioning methods to support business strategies. This comprehensive training course provides the student with the information and techniques to thoroughly understand the APICS body of knowledge for the Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) exam. This course is the only single resource available that is designed specifically to help candidates pass the APICS CPIM exam part 2. The APIC learning system materials provided in this course include printed handouts, knowledge progress checks, practise quizzes, practise exams and case studies. In the first class students will be required to purchase the APIC learning system materials estimated at a cost of $685 CAD. Note that APICS has reconfigured the CPIM program and the original five exams will be replaced with the Part 1 and Part 2 exams.
