This course covers the basic concepts of managing the flow of materials and information in a supply chain from suppliers to customers. The relationships with the design, plan, execute, monitor, and control functions of a supply chain are studied and their application in the manufacturing, distribution, service, and retail industries are examined. Topics include: basic business concepts, variations in supply chain environments, demand management, identifying market and customer expectations, product design, process design, information system design, and inventory management. This comprehensive training course provides the student with the information and techniques to thoroughly understand the APICS body of knowledge for the Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) exam. This course is the only single resource available that is designed specifically to help candidates pass the APICS CPIM exam part 1. The APIC learning system materials provided in this course include printed handouts, knowledge progress checks, practise quizzes, practise exams and case studies. In the first class students will be required to purchase the APIC learning system materials estimated at a cost of $395 USD. Note that APICS has reconfigured the CPIM program and the original five exams will be replaced with the Part 1 and Part 2 exams.
