“I discovered the Global Ambassador program while asking about exchange options, and I knew right away it was something I wanted to be part of. Some of the most impactful moments in my life have come from connecting with people from different cultures, and this role allowed me to create that same sense of welcome in Canada that I felt while traveling abroad. I only wish the opportunity lasted longer, as it never felt like work. It gave me lifelong friendships and a new perspective on what it means to share my culture with others.“

“I applied for the Global Ambassador Program with the sole purpose of helping foreign students navigate their lives here in BC, and educating local students about study abroad opportunities. As an international student myself, I know first-hand the challenges of adapting to a new environment. I want to lessen that burden for others so that they can feel more confident, connected, and prepared. Being a Global Ambassador has been a rewarding experience because it (1) has deepened my understanding of different cultures; (2) connected to me to a diverse community of students and staff who share a passion for global engagement while expanding my professional network; and (3) helped me to sharpened my communication and leadership skills, which are vital for my program.“
