CISA Laddering Program

Computer & Information Technology has collaborated with the Vancouver and Burnaby School Districts to develop a laddering pathway that transitions students from high school into BCIT’s Computer Information Systems Administration (CISA) diploma program.

As the province’s CISCO Academy Instructor Training Centre, BCIT trains high school teachers to acquire the knowledge and skills that allow them to teach CISCO-sponsored networking courses at high schools. After graduating from Grade 12, students attend BCIT CISA in the fall, while receiving advanced standing for some courses in level 1. Perfectly aligning with the K-12 Curriculum Redesign, this program allows high school students to engage with subject matter they are passionate about and then make a seamless transition to post-secondary.
