Builds on the information presented in OCHS 2320 (or OCHS 2321). Examines, in detail: guarding, metalworking machines, woodworking machines, welding and thermal cutting, excavation, blasting, confined space entry, boilers and pressure vessels, commercial fleet safety, automated processes, ladders and scaffolds. Explains how to successfully eliminate or reduce the hazards and risks associated with several work processes.

- Cite and apply current workplace health and safety regulations and safety-related standards pertaining to the following work practices and processes:
- Excavation

- Fall Protection
- Mobile Equipment
- Recognize and discuss the range of potential safety hazards associated with these work practices and processes.
- Undertake literature and on-line resource searches to determine current accident trends in the workplaces using these work practices and processes.
- Interpret the technical language of workplace health and safety regulations, safety-related standards and accident statistics regarding these work practices and processes in a way that will make them accessible to members of health and safety committees and other non-specialists.
- List and explain the engineering, administrative and PPE control options available to reduce the safety hazards associated with these work practices and processes.
- Given the available control options and regulatory requirements, select the control option most appropriate for a specific workplace.
- Describe the characteristics of an adult learner and the range of learning styles of adult learners.
- Identify the range of training presentation methods available for adult learners and compare and contrast these methods.
- Given an identified training need, write learning outcomes, design the lesson plan and present training that will effectively meet the training need.
- Evaluate selected commercially-available safety training programs.
