Course Overview
The course covers fundamentals of distribution and collection system hydraulics and system curves, pump electrical and controls, and operation of pump to suit a system curve. The student will develop a small distribution system and measure head loss to size a pump. Various types of pumps maintenance and pump components including impellers, packing shaft and seals will be discussed.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Read and interpret pump and system curves.
- Calculate impeller periphery velocity and determine head.
- Understand affinity law the relationship between head, flow and horse power.
- Use nomographs to calculate piping head loss.
- Understand electricity and pump control logic, pump repair & maintenance.
- Receive, inspect, install and commission new pump in a existing system.
