Course Overview
This course develops a working knowledge of virtualization and database systems to provide a deep understanding that industrial networks often extend into a virtualized server or workstation running a relational database. Building on the concepts developed in the Windows Server Administration for Industrial Network Cybersecurity course in term three, this course prepares students for the Culmination Project in the following five-week term. The concepts being developed in this course are closely related to the concepts being developed concurrently in the Cyber Operations course. Topics include: the implementation and configuration of Microsoft’s Hyper-V, the installation of a relational database on a virtual machine, creating a database and database objects, querying a database using SQL, security issues with relational databases, and data protection techniques for relational databases.
