Course Overview
This entrepreneurship development course will provide the learner with an opportunity to evaluate a business opportunity by creating a feasibility study for the start-up of a small tourism enterprise. Key aspects of opening a new business will be reviewed. Learners build self-awareness of their own entrepreneurial skills and the competencies required for the successful launch of a new business venture.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Develop effective public speaking skills by delivering oral presentations (individual and team) to audiences of diverse sizes.
- Describe common traits of entrepreneurial success; identifying one's own entrepreneurial propensity.
- Evaluate various emerging trends and issues in entrepreneurship such as social enterprise.
- Describe the common legal forms of organization used by businesses.
- Analyze legal and risk management issues as they relate to a new venture.
- Explain the importance of analyzing target market needs/wants and the micro/macro environment.
- Identify and assess potential market demand, product/service capacity, competition, operational and managerial efficiencies, and financial viability to represent a feasible business opportunity.
- Develop the components of a feasibility study.
- Describe the purpose, content, and application of the Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement and Balance Sheet.
- Create a personal professional growth plan to address areas of entrepreneurial strengths and weaknesses.
