Course Overview
Vegetation Treatment Skills provides basic training in the maintenance and safe and productive use of chainsaws, brushsaws, backpack sprayers and injection devices in vegetation management. It also introduces assessing work quality, maintaining environmental quality, minimizing fire risk and worker rights and responsibilities under Employment Standards.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
- Maintain a chainsaw and a brushsaw in safe, efficient operating condition
- Operate a chainsaw or a brushsaw safely and productively while performing vegetation management treatments
- Maintain a backpack sprayer and an injection device in safe, efficient operating condition
- Operate a backpack sprayer and an injection device safely and productively while performing vegetation management treatments
- Perform work to achieve requirements for work quality, fire protection and environmental quality
- Be aware of Employment Standards
