Course Overview
This course teaches students how to deploy, configure, and administer a Unified Communication Server solution. The course emphasizes Enterprise Voice features from a deployment and configuration perspective. The labs in this course build on each other to create a solution that includes IM and Presence, Conferencing, and Enterprise Voice features. Students will learn how to implement, maintain, and deploy a communications server. This course also covers integration with legacy or IP PBX systems. Students will learn how to integrate a communications server with support for Exchange Unified Messaging.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Describe the functionality of a Communications Server and the features it would provide.
- Describe networking protocols used to provide service for voice and video traffic.
- Configure a directory service and network infrastructure for a communications server.
- Deploy a communications server.
- Install, configure, and support communications Server clients.
- Implement an Instant Messaging solution by using Communications Server.
- Implement a Group Chat solution by using Communications Server.
- Implement a conferencing solution by using Communications Server.
- Deploy and maintain telephony by using Communications Server.
- Configure archiving and monitoring to maintain legal and internal corporate compliance in an organization.
- Monitor and maintain a Communications Server
