Course Overview
This course is designed to familiarize students with developing, marketing and managing successful travel and tour packages. The packaged travel industry will also be examined from the perspective of companies working with domestic and international tour operators including destinations, hotels, activity operators and transportation companies.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to:
- Design and develop a successful tour package.
- Develop a promotional plan that efficiently sells tour packages.
- Explain the unique demographic and psychographic characteristics of tour package travellers.
- Describe the different roles tour operators, tour wholesalers, receptive operators, inbound operators, DMO’s, suppliers and travel agencies play in the Tour industry.
- Explain how to utilize DMO's marketing services to create and market tour products.
- Identify the general categories of tour suppliers and how they are selected by the tour industry.
- Calculate the cost per person to charge for tour packages.
