Course Overview
In this course, students develop the skills and knowledge required to prepare technical reports and deliver professional presentations commonly used in the natural resources field. Students will use discipline‐related written assignments to support the development of a technical report. The course will also address the basics of peer review and collaborative communications, enabling students to become effective members of a team.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Determine the nature of an audience for a variety of industry contexts.
- Synthesize and organize information from a variety of sources.
- Develop goals and objectives, research questions, or a problem statement.
- Demonstrate a clear and concise technical writing style, including appropriate paragraph and sentence structure and word choice.
- Create effective tables and figures, including captions.
- Use correct citation format for information and references.
- Use self‐editing and peer review for proofreading reports.
- Design and deliver effective, professional presentations.
- Communicate collaboratively as an effective member of a team while preparing written group projects.
