Course Overview
A course for engineering technology students in the application and theory of trigonometric functions including right angle trigonometry, radian measure, vector and triangle problems, trigonometric identities and graphing, polar coordinates, compound and double angle formulas, trigonometric equations and inverse functions.
Prerequisite(s)
- Recent Principles or Applications of Math 12 or MATH 0001 or equivalent, with a "C+" or better.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
- Apply the definitions of the trigonometric ratios to the solution of right-angled triangles.
- Solve problems using right-triangle trigonometry.
- Use the general definitions of the trigonometric ratios to generate the value of the trigonometric functions of any angle.
- Solve oblique triangles.
- Find the resultant of two or more vectors.
- Apply vectors to problems in a variety of engineering disciplines.
- Use radian measure for the solution of circular measure problems.
- Graph the general sinusoidal function.
- Manipulate and simplify trigonometric expressions using trigonometric identities.
- Solve trigonometric equations.
