Course Overview
Covers systems of linear equations and determinants with application to electrical, networks, logarithmic and exponential functions including the study of electrical transients, dB gain, logarithmic and semilog graphing, trigonometric functions and the graphs of the sinusoidal functions - right triangle geometry with application to impedance and admittance diagrams, complex numbers, rectangular/polar conversion and AC circuit applications, number base conversion and binary number operations with a brief introduction to Boolean logic and Karnaugh mapping.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
- Write systems of equations for multi-loop electrical networks.
- Solve system of equations using the method of determinants.
- Solve exponential equations relating to electrical transients.
- Solve logarithmic equations with application to decibels.
- Make effective use of log-log and exponential graphs with application to Bode plots.
- Sketch sinusoidal waveforms and demonstrate an understanding of phase lag / lead.
- Solve simple trigonometric equations.
- Use complex numbers to perform calculations using rectangular, polar, exponential forms and vector like calculations.
- Understand the complex frequency spectrum, an application of Euler's formula.
- Use complex numbers to solve ac circuit problems.
- Work with binary, octal, and hexadecimal number systems.
- Set up logic problems using Boolean algebra and use methods for simplifying Boolean functions.
