The Associate Certificate in Financial Planning is a Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC®) pre-approved Core Curriculum program and meets Certified Financial Planner® (CFP) program academic requirements. The following dates will be HELD IN-CLASS at the Downtown Campus. Mid-Term: Wednesday, May 22nd (17:30 - 21:30) Mid-Term Exam De-Brief: Wednesday, May 29th (17:30 - 21:30) Final: Wednesday, July 10th (17:30 - 21:30). This is not a self-paced course. You will be expected to be available and online on the posted days and times shown on your registration schedule. It is important you have a stable and consistent internet connection to access course content. Course content, type and quality of assignments, and general standards for this online course are the same as classroom courses. To be successful in this online course, plan to spend 7-10 hours per week on your studies, or more if it’s a condensed course, starting Week 1. Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Be able to identify the different sources of income for tax purposes and have a basic understanding of the tax ramifications of receiving such income.
- Be able to distinguish between tax deductible expenses and those that are not tax deductible.
- Have a basic understanding of the Canadian Income Tax system.
