Course Overview
This course covers the duties and responsibilities involved in the operation, maintenance and construction of all aspects of municipal storm sewer systems. Topic includes review of design, installation and maintenance of catch basins culverts, drains, drainage vegetation management, debris and safety grills. The course includes a group research project.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify all the components of a storm sewer system.
- Install and maintain storm sewer, chambers, catch basins, retention and detention ponds.
- Install, inspect and maintain flood gates, flood control valves and pumps.
- Develop maintenance procedures to effectively maintain all structures in a storm sewer system.
- Describe the basics of electrical controls for pumps and gates.
