Course Overview
Sonography Clinical 1 is the first clinical course and is designed to immerse the student into the clinical environment. Students in this course gain hands-on experience in the settings of abdomen, pelvis, obstetrics, vascular, superficial, and cardiac sonography. Emphasis is placed on patient care, inter-professional collaboration, communication, and safe practice. Students will reflect on typical departmental workflow, sonographer tasks, and the role of other health care professionals in the environment. Course goals will be achieved through guided scanning practice, application of feedback, image review, and job shadowing opportunities in other departments.
