Sonography Clinical 1 DSON 2004

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

• Demonstrate professional behaviour at all times and in accordance with the Sonography Canada code of ethics and scope of practice. (2.1f, 2.1e, 2.1c, 2.2d, 2e, 2.2i, 2.3a, 2.3b, 2.3h)
• Demonstrate effective verbal and non-verbal communication with patients, their support persons, and other healthcare professionals. (1.1a, 1.1b, 1.1d, 1.1e, 1.1g, 1.1h, 1.1i, 1.1j, 1.1k, 1.3a, 1.3b, 2.3f)

• Produce accurate and diagnostic images, in a timely manner, demonstrating findings using spatial reasoning and according to departmental protocols of structures listed in NCP 6.0 appendices A-E. • Identify and respond to urgent sonographic findings aligned with best practices and site protocols. (2.2g)

• Appraise performance critically outline goals for self-improvement. (2.4a)
• Demonstrate a collaborative interprofessional approach to deliver patient-centered care, using the IPE competencies as a guide. (2.3c, 2.3d)
