Course Overview
In this course, students will learn how to select the correct lubricants and hydraulic fluids for various types of equipment. Students will be introduced to the different types of bearings, seals and gaskets found in machines. The course covers lubrication requirements of varying types of bearings. Students will also select cutting fluids for specific machining applications.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
- Identify safety hazards associated with lubricants, hydraulic fluids and cutting fluids.
- Select cutting fluids for different cutting operations.
- Identify hydraulic fluids for different machine applications.
- Describe types of friction and anti-friction bearings and their applications.
- Identify gaskets and seals used in various equipment components.
