Course Overview
This is a series of short modules that focus on the essential training required by workers in the oil patch. These include Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), Confined Spaces, Hydrogen Sulphide Gas (H2S) Training, First Aid and Fall Protection. This course is positioned later in the program as the training within is time sensitive for those entering the workforce.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
- Designate confined spaces and correctly write a safe entry procedure.
- Demonstrate safe work practices in and around a confined space.
- Select appropriate fall protection gear.
- Using appropriate fall protection equipment, suspend all their weight on a harness.
- Demonstrate proper first aid skills in dealing with minor injuries.
- List the hazards associated with H2S and demonstrate proper equipment use to protect themselves from those hazards.
- Identify WHMIS and TDG requirements and recognize the symbols and labels used therein.
