Course Overview
Advanced topics in Renewable Energy/RE systems will be discussed. Students will work on RE design projects with focus for buildings applications. Emphasis will be on BIPV, geothermal and energy efficient systems design. Computer software tools such as RETScreen will be used for cost analysis and energy feasibility studies.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify renewable energy/RE systems suitable for building applications.
- Understand and interpret the renewable energy systems specifications and types.
- Perform design and analysis for overall RE systems.
- Perform relative detail design for RE systems with building applications.
- Perform cost and feasibility study analyses for RE systems.
- Use RETScreen software for RE systems and building energy efficiency study.
- Use computer and relevant software tools for analysis and design of RE systems.
- Describe the RE systems advantages relative to conventional energy systems.
- Use the learning's from project assigned for performing practical RE projects.
