Course Overview
Competency is evaluating the market value of a real property asset is essential for the real estate professional. In this course, students are introduced to the four fundamental approaches typically considered ahead of competently and efficiently completing an evaluation mandate. Students will learn to confidently establish value in yesterday's, today's, and tomorrow's residential and commercial markets. Learning is demonstrated through a combination of individual examination and, individual and team based case study reports.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Assess which approach to apply to a real estate property evaluation mandate to ensure optimum reliability of evaluation conclusion and recommendation.
- For any of yesterday, today, or future time-frames, determine the market value for each of both residential, and commercial properties.
- Develop the market value for a specific property, including; the reason for the selected approach, the evaluation workup, the applied outcome, and the final recommendation.
- Align real property market valuations with BC Real Estate Regulatory guidelines.
- Demonstrate ethical decision-making and fiduciary care of clients in establishing market evaluations of real property assets.
