Course Overview
The course includes a review of radiation theory, physical principles, radiation sources, detection and safety. Topics include the radiographic process, miscellaneous applications, test result interpretation, material considerations, codes standards, specifications and procedures . The course meets the recommended training course guidelines of the Canadian Government Specifications Board: Standard CGSB Standard 48.9712-06 (Table 1). Course requires that students can use a calculator, manipulate formulae, apply basic trigonometry (sine, cosine, tan, arcsine, arccosine, arc tan) and use exponential functions.
