Course Overview
Covers the general principles of radiography including the nature of penetrating radiation and its interaction with matter, radiation sources, detection and measurement of radiation, safety and darkroom procedures. Students learn the proper selection of a radiation source for a given application, film type, screens and should be able to perform radiographic examinations according to prescribed techniques. This course meets the requirements of CGSB Standard 48.9712-06 (Table 1). Course requires that students can use a calculator, manipulate formulae, apply basic trigonometry (sine, cosine, tan, arcsine, arccosine, arc tan) and use exponential functions.
