Course Overview
This course is intended to be taken just prior to completion of the program. It will help you conduct the necessary literature review to clearly define your industry sponsor/research topic, and to prepare an effective proposal for submission to the department. Your industry sponsor is expected to provide occasional guidance and support relating to this activity.

Learning Outcomes
The student will write a professional proposal that meets both industry and the Construction Management Program standards for style, format, and language by integrating the following skills into the writing process:
- Analyzing audience and purpose accurately.
- Developing a strategic writing plan appropriate for proposals.
- Using clear and concise language in appropriate technical style.
- Formatting and structuring information into appropriate segments of a proposal.
- Integrating argumentative methodologies into the proposal.
- Demonstrating thorough research and publication review techniques.
- Documenting research sources in a manner consistent with accepted practices.
