Course Overview
This course introduces the concept of media project management. Since many in this field are self-employed, it is critical students learn to become self-sufficient. Effective documentation and planning will greatly aid you in interactions with clients, talent and crew. Efficient workflow is analyzed and practiced from prep, to shoot, to the edit suite and when delivering and promoting a final project. The ability to work independently is a major asset in this evolving industry landscape.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
- Effectively identify and organize project objectives.
- Define the parameters of a media project for a potential client.
- Analyze and negotiate the terms of a client production.
- Create production documentation including; releases, permits, contracts and deal memos.
- Demonstrate effective pitching and presentation skills.
- Research and write a professional detailed one to two page treatment for a proposal.
- Develop and modify scripts.
- Design a storyboard that reinforces your concept.
- Demonstrate skills including drafting a budget, invoicing and completing expense/cost reports.
- Develop a comprehensive binder in electronic pdf form containing these documents.
