Course Overview
The emergence of online marketing tools, influencer marketing, and social media has shifted the traditional view of “branding” from just companies to individuals as well. Today, whether you want it or not, you are your own brand, and your online reputation speaks louder than your resume. Thinking about ourselves as brands may not come naturally though. What do I want to stand for? How do I become recognized for what I do? Most importantly, how do I “stand out” from all the noise? This course is designed to help students and professionals build their online personal brand and position themselves as attractive candidates for the best career opportunities in their existing or future niche. It is also designed to help consultants, entrepreneurs, and business owners establish themselves as ‘go-to’ experts and trusted advisors amongst their peers, and prospective customers. The course provides practical training on how to strategically build and grow an effective online personal brand presence using the latest and most relevant digital and social media marketing channels, tools and tactics such as storytelling, blogging, guest-blogging, video, LinkedIn, and Twitter marketing. These concepts will be presented using a combination of focused case studies, interactive exercises and a final project designed to help the students improve their online personal brand during and after the course.
