Course Overview
COMM 0031 provides opportunities for individuals working in health fields to improve their listening and speaking communication skills for successful participation in the workplace. This course also provides opportunities to improve listening and speaking skills in order to meet entry standards for various BCIT programs. Particular attention is paid to fine tuning English pronunciation and further developing conversational fluency. The course introduces individuals to specialized software that will assist them towards reducing heavy accents and gaining more confidence in their conversational and pronunciation skills. A spoken assessment exam will take place near the end of the course to help individuals evaluate their competency and fluency of the English language.
