Course Overview
The sales and purchasing methods of wood products varies from country to country but the logistical problems and documentation demands are constant for all transactions. Negotiation methods, communication, documentation, financial instruments, and transportation logistics will be examined in detail as they relate to our major trading partners.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course the student will be able to:
- Communicate wood products sales strategies with potential customers in Japan, Korea, China and Europe.
- Arrange for the shipment of wood products from a producing mill to a warehouse in Asia.
- Calculate all of the costs incurred for a transaction between a producing mill and a door plant in the U.K.
- Prepare all the documentation required for a shipment of lumber from Vancouver to Inchon, Korea.
- Prepare the necessary documentation to open a Letter of Credit.
- Prepare a quotation for a shipment of lumber to China in RMB and in cubic meters.
