Course Overview
Learn how to record, prepare and edit radio reports/newscasts using the Burli Newsroom System. Learn the basics of clip editing through the systems single and multi-track audio editors; how to add production and natural sound into a report/newscast. Participate in class discussions about what makes a compelling story through sound and learn the basics of a very common radio newsroom system used all over the world.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- Identify the basic functions of Burli and incorporate the knowledge into a mock report/newscast.
- Edit radio clips for stories in a clear/concise manner using proper levels and other audio-editing tools within the newsroom software.
- Add production to a news story/report by importing an interview or sound clip from another device.
- Discuss with the class what makes a compelling story that is pleasing to the ear, and to know when it is appropriate or inappropriate to use sound or other production on air.
- Students will have the opportunity to study current events and listen to examples of work from real radio news anchors and reporters in the field.
