Course Overview
This course covers the principles and systems of manufacturing and construction, using a variety of metals. Using design, planning and processing skills, students will produce individual as well as group solutions to manufacturing challenges appropriate for public school Technology Education programs. Appropriate safe work and material handling procedures will be required throughout the course.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course the student will:
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of the standard of safety required in school shops.
- Employ correct terminology when discussing a range of metalworking tools and machines.
- Design a process plan for a metals manufacturing challenge.
- Demonstrate the proper operation of metalworking tools, machines and processes in a range of tasks.
