Course Overview
In this course you will learn about metals and their properties commonly used in the marine industry. You will demonstrate metal working operations, cutting, threading, bending and lay-out techniques. In this course you will learn to describe and service boat trailer components, and adjust weight distribution. In this course you will describe and demonstrate basic metalworking techniques with common marine metals.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Describe the metals commonly found in the recreational marine industry, their main properties and uses
- Describe the basic metalworking operations, including cutting, drilling, tapping, cutting threads, filing, grinding and bending in various common marine metals
- Perform basic metalworking techniques with common marine metals
- Identify boat trailer components
- Demonstrate trailer service procedures and adjust weight distribution
