Course Overview
Aimed to familiarize the students with medical terminology commonly encountered in cardiology and other disciplines. Designed specifically for allied health professionals, the text/workbook introduces learners to Latin and Greek roots, prefixes, and suffixes. The online Evolve platform supplements the learning experience with quizzes, case studies, and an interactive pronunciation guide.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Explain the meaning of prefixes, suffixes, and roots, and use them to form medical terms
- Use and interpret terminology specific to cardiology and other health disciplines
- Identify anatomical planes, regions and organs within them
- Name common cardiac procedures based on their abbreviations
- Accurately interpret cardiology patient records
- Identify medical specialists and common procedures within their practice
