Course Overview
Students are required to initiate contact with a registered professional in the civil engineering/construction industry, and formulate an industry-applicable project in the area of material testing. The project should involve the application of the material testing skills covered in the prerequisite courses leading up to the practicum or the investigation of a current, relevant problem for the industry contact. The student is required to submit a project proposal for approval, and will then carry out the tasks as stated in the proposal. Periodically, the student meets with the faculty advisor and/or the industry contact to review the project progress, and finally submit the finished project to both the industry contact and faculty advisor.
