Course Overview
This course builds upon NPMA 1610 and allows you the opportunity to increase your ability to recruit, develop, assess and discipline both paid and unpaid staff in a nonprofit organization. You will also become familiar with all of the regulatory requirements that affect the nonprofit sector with respect to human relations issues.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Discuss the role of the executive director and manager with respect to orientation and coaching paid and unpaid staff.
- Explain the role of the executive director in relation to managing staff in a nonprofit organization.
- Design a selection procedure that fits the needs of a given nonprofit organization and meets all relevant human rights legislation for both paid and unpaid staff, and volunteers.
- Design a performance assessment policy and procedure that is in accord with all current and relevant human rights legislation.
- Develop a policy and procedure to deal with the issue of sexual harassment.
- Develop a policy to address the issue of progressive discipline of both paid and unpaid staff for a nonprofit organization.
