Course Overview
This course focuses on the use of controls, computers, and also covers some aspects of industrial management systems. Course activities will allow students to work with and test different control systems. The course will balance theoretical knowledge of systems and processes with hands-on experience in these areas, including liquid and gas measurement, working with transmitters and scanners.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Discuss instrumentation systems for control and data acquisition.
- Describe different valves and the way they work.
- List and explain the four main components of a closed control loop.
- List the four main parameters for which control loops are created and suggest appropriate components for each.
- Discuss common industrial project management techniques.
- Conduct a risk assessment on an industrial activity.
- Use industry standard communication and data analysis tools.
