Course Overview
This course introduces students to the fundamental skills related to the handling of heating and welding equipment including safety, equipment shut down and storage, oxy-acetylene torches, and metal inert gas. Students will perform basic Gas Metal Arc Welding/Metal Inert Gas (GMAW/MIG) and Oxyacetylene welding. Students will perform cutting of mild steel and angle iron, oxy-fuel welding, and brazing of mild steel plate.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify welding safety.
- Introduce equipment for cutting, welding and heating applications.
- Describe Brazing, Gas-welding, and MIG procedures and techniques.
- Perform Brazing, Gas-welding, and MIG welding.
