Course Overview
Do you dream of becoming an interior designer and think it may be your calling? This weekend workshop is the perfect place to find out! Four instructors from the Interior Design department will take you on a journey into the heart, mind and life of an interior designer. Explore how the elements & principles of design are all around you and see the world from a designer’s perspective. Explore and create in a fun, collaborative environment – analyse space, learn about colour and take part in the design process. Join us for an ‘extreme design experience’ you’ll never forget!

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Explore the design process.
- Recognize that beauty and design is everywhere.
- Discuss the colour wheel and colour harmonies used in interior design.
- Consider objects and spaces in relation to the elements and principles of design.
- Explore ergonomics to develop spatial awareness.
- Create a visual ‘design diary’ that illustrates awareness of the elements and principles of design.
- Present design solutions using basic design vocabulary.
- Discuss what the role of the Professional Interior Designer is in the residential and commercial design industries.
