Course Overview
This introductory course introduces the student to the field of personal financial planning and will enable them to plan their financial affairs with confidence. Course material covers the issues to be considered to achieve long term financial goals. Topics include money and credit management, tax planning, risk management (insurance), investment planning, retirement planning, and estate planning. Students will be able to prepare a financial plan for an uncomplicated situation. This course covers the same material as FMGT 1810 (Personal Financial Planning 1), however, it is not equivalent to FMGT 1810, and cannot be used towards meeting the requirements of the Certified Financial Planner® program.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
