This course enables professionals and managers involved in importing or exporting to deal with international payment methods, payment terms, and transaction risk management associated with international trade.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
- Help a Canadian export company to identify and evaluate all associated costs and realistically attainable net revenues expected from a potential export or foreign market entry initiative.
- Understand the potential impacts of a prospective international trade venture on corporate cash flow and profitability.
- Make use of cash flow projections, income forecasts, return-on-investment calculations, and balance sheets to manage budget, cash flows and profitability in an international venture.
- Describe the common causes of international trade disputes (payment issues, shipment acceptance, and so on) and the best methods of prevention or mitigation using resources (Letter of Credit, Importer financing, etc.) available from banks or agencies such as Export Develop Canada (EDC) to protect organizations in international transactions.
