Learning Outcomes
This course provides each student with an opportunity to complete a comprehensive project that incorporates all learning and courses in all areas covered in your course of studies at BCIT. Each student will apply a problem solving model to a project at their organization.
This course allows each student to develop a specific integrated project that promotes an evidence-based approach to decision making and improves the outcomes for the sponsoring organization.
Course Goals
- Research a potential change management initiative.
- Research, analyze and organize information.
- Apply problem-solving skills to analyze problems & issues.
- Determine appropriate personnel & processes to resolve problems & issues as required.
- Researching and recommending alternatives.
- Recommend how project learning can be integrated into ongoing organizational systems & processes.
- Develop relevant solutions to organizational issues for implementation options.
Upon successful completion, you will be able to:
- Demonstrate mastery of the issue selected for the project.
- Provide the organization with a 'value added' critical analysis of an important issue.
- Demonstrate proficiency in applying the problem-solving approach to the topic selected for the project, including identification of relevant benchmarks.
- Produce an analysis that demonstrates an ability to use evidence to support decision making.
