Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
SAMA, ISA & WHMIS Symbols
- Describe standard instrumentation symbols used in documentation
- Interpret Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) symbols
Instrumentation Documentation and CAD
- Organize information for calibration reports, Field Level Risk Analyses (FLRA) and Job Safety Analyses (JSA)
- Utilize and navigate manufacturers’ technical manuals, electronic schematics, loop wiring diagrams and other technical literature
- Apply skills to an employment job search, including job interview procedures and formatting a personal Curriculum Vitae (CV) or job resume.
- Create a detailed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for a specific work task
- Create and edit a drawing symbol library for a Process and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) using CAD
