Course Overview
This course is intended to fast-track the industrial audiometric technician (IAT) certification for professionals already registered in the hearing healthcare industry. As such, it is open only to Audiologists and Hearing Instrument Practitioners (HIPs). The course covers topics such as WorkSafeBC noise regulations, hearing conservation, hazardous noise, facility authorization, counselling on industrial hearing evaluations, and hearing protection. In addition, an overview of the WorkSafeBC Hearing Test Submission System (HTS) will be provided. Upon successful completion, participants will be eligible to apply to WorkerSafeBC for IAT certification and will be expected to follow the IAT recertification schedule.
