Course Overview
This course helps students understand the cross-sectional and relational anatomy of the major body regions (head, neck, thorax, abdomen, pelvis, upper and lower extremities). The curriculum emphasizes the anatomy of the skull, central nervous system and cardiovascular system, and revisits the relevant anatomical structures of the skeletal, endocrine, respiratory, digestive, urinary and reproductive system in the context of viewing anatomical structures on CT and MRI images. The course is a hybrid format consisting of lecture, laboratory and online components. This course is the prerequisite for: MRAD 2218 Pathology 1, MRAD 2219 Applied Image Analysis 1, MRAD 2410 Radiographic Procedures 2, and MRAD 2330 Clinical Education 1.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
- Identify anatomical structures and landmarks of the cranium, central nervous and cardiovascular systems using laboratory models, 3D models, virtual reality, CT and MRI images.
- Understand the relational anatomy of structures located in the head, neck, spine, thorax, abdomen, pelvis and extremities as viewed on CT and MRI images.
- Identify the level and orientation of structures displayed on CT and MRI images of the head, neck, spine, thorax, abdomen, pelvis and extremities.
- Identify anatomical structures and organs of the following organ systems as viewed on CT and MRI images:
- skeletal (skull, vertebral column, extremities)
- nervous (central nervous system)
- endocrine
- respiratory
