Course Overview
Introduces participants to economics of lighting. Includes maximizing return on investment, the simple payback period, various retrofit and redesign options and maintenance programs with scheduling. Opportunities for proceeding with a lighting upgrade are examined. Overview of programs available for financial assistance, businesses involving lighting upgrade work and case studies.

Learning Outcomes
- Identify financing opportunities available for lighting retrofits, including tax credits, possible grants and subsidies.
- Determine payback period of a lighting retrofit or re-design upgrade.
- Describe various types of maintenance procedures in maintaining satisfactory.
- Describe the benefits of 'group replacement' over the alternative 'spot replacement'.
- Determine the most appropriate maintenance schedule for the lighting installation to maintain consistent illumination and minimize the probability of lamp failure.
- Write up a comprehensive lighting business plan, including capital and maintenance costs and payback period based on energy savings.
