Course Overview
This course will maximize the learning experience to become proficient in handling a Fast Rescue Craft (FRB) to an STCW 95 standard by utilizing hands on training, computer-based training, classroom lectures, discussions, skills of operation, and maintenance and repair. The course follows the International Maritime Organization Model course for STCW VI-2/2 requirements, using practical and theoretical participation.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Understand the construction and use of Fast Rescue Boat equipment.
- Understand the particular characteristics and facilities of a Fast Rescue Boat.
- Navigate a Fast Rescue Boat safely and efficiently.
- Safely launch and recover the Fast Rescue Boat.
- Handle a Fast Rescue Boat in prevailing and adverse weather conditions.
- Right a capsized Fast Rescue Boat.
- Use search patterns and environmental factors in SAR operations.
- Assess the readiness of a Fast Rescue Boat and its equipment.
