Learning Outcomes
At the completion of this course the students will be able to:
- Identify the types and characteristics of the different harvest methods employed in the forest industry.
- Complete under supervision, engineering field surveys including road and cutblock traverses, reconnaissance and deflection lines.
- Demonstrate safe work practices.
- Identify WCB regulations pertaining to harvesting and conducting forestry field work.
- Describe considerations for minimizing ecological impacts of forestry operations.
- Complete field survey notes accurately and neatly.
- Utilize the Road Eng computer program to input traverse data, and label and print planimetric maps.
