Course Overview
The purpose of this capstone course is to provide students with an opportunity to work on an appropriate industry- related project. With direction from the industry sponsor and supervision from a faculty advisor, the student will execute the project workplan that was developed in FOOD 3390 Research Methods. The students will identify and write detailed methodologies for the workplan and communicate research results through progress reports, a final oral presentation, and a written technical report. The course will allow students to apply knowledge gained from other courses, and establish links with members of the food industry.

- FOOD 3444‡ (‡ must be taken concurrently)
- All courses in Levels 1, 2 and 3.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Develop and execute a research project workplan.
- Identify appropriate methods applicable to the project.
- Write detailed methodologies for the identified methods.
- Collect data using the developed methodologies.
- Analyze and evaluate results.
- Communicate results to the faculty advisor and industry sponsor through progress reports, an oral presentation and written final technical report which includes a summary, recommendations, and next steps.
- Demonstrate an ability to answer technical questions.
