Course Overview
In this course, students will expand upon the digital newsroom skills learned in Digital Journalism (BCST 2240) and Journalism Practicum 1 (BCST 2235) and apply those skills in an active daily Digital Newsroom. Participants will work in the field and also in the newsroom managing the BCIT News webpage and social media accounts. As a team, students will work to produce original content created specifically for a digital audience

- Successful completion of all level 1 and level 2 courses.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Work in a group to manage all digital aspects of the BCIT Newsroom.
- Follow ethical and legal guidelines, specifically relating to online content creation and copyright.
- Write informative online articles, using industry-standard style and format.
- Write engaging headlines using SEO guidelines.
- Recognize appropriate sources for gathering digital content.
- Create multimedia stories using a variety of digital tools.
- Produce content to deadline.
